The Unity Club met with the Center for U.S.-Ukrainian Relations in Washington, DC to examine the decisive measures required for Ukraine’s economic survival and sustainable growth. The closed-door discussion focused on how Ukraine can move from managing crisis to building a stable, transparent, and investment-ready economy.

The Unity Club delegation included Ambassador Roman Popadiuk, Pavlo Chumak, Ivan Zatoplyayev, and Michael Sawkiw, who represented both the Club and the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA). The meeting was hosted by Walter Zaryckyj, Executive Director of CUSUR, with participation from Thomas O. Lang, Executive Director of Rebuilding Ukraine Association, and Mykola Vizir, Senior Vice President for Technical Design at Berezan Port Corp.

Discussions centered on the “economic push” Ukraine needs to stabilize its finances and attract long-term capital. Participants analyzed how U.S. experience in budgeting discipline, expenditure oversight, and audit systems could help strengthen Ukraine’s institutions and rebuild confidence among investors and international partners.

Both sides emphasized that economic governance now stands alongside defense as a pillar of national resilience. Effective fiscal control and transparent budgeting, they agreed, are not technical details but matters of strategic security.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to deepen cooperation between Ukrainian and American experts, aligning policy design with practical reform to support Ukraine’s continued economic transformation.
