Unity Club will serve as a platform for global solidarity and a catalyst for Ukraine's recovery, uniting members of the international community in the shared mission of supporting sustainable and prosperous Ukraine.

OUR VISION

The Unity Club is a global network of individuals drawn from a wide range of business, political, economic, religious and cultural circles, dedicated to promoting the humanitarian needs of Ukraine as well as in helping to design and implement initiatives for Ukraine's post war recovery.

OUR MISSION

The Club is a nonpartisan effort and serves as an impartial platform to mobilize international support for Ukraine. Its activities include encouraging investment, the development of civic society, cultural exchanges, promoting dialogue on important issues facing Ukraine and efforts in support of Ukraine's security.

To achieve its goals, the Alliance sponsors a series of conferences, working groups and education initiatives and works with the international community to enhance an understanding of Ukraine's recovery and development. The goal is to help integrate Ukraine into the western community of nations as a democratic, prosperous and secure nation.

President, Board Member Ambassador Roman Popadiuk brings deep diplomatic expertise and strategic insight to the club, drawing from his experience as the first U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine and senior advisor in multiple U.S. organizations. His leadership strengthens the club's mission to foster strong transatlantic ties and informed dialogue on U.S.–Ukraine relations.

PAVLO CHUMAK

Founder, Board Member Pavlo Chumak is a Ukrainian entrepreneur and philanthropist, founder and head of the international group of companies Sunpro group, which operates in Ukraine, the European Union, and the United States. Over the past decade, he has successfully implemented a number of projects in the fields of food industry, maritime logistics, port infrastructure, and renewable energy. He is deeply committed to philanthropic efforts and plays an active role in the development of local communities. With his support, numerous social initiatives have been implemented, including the provision of medical equipment, reconstruction of road infrastructure, and support for spiritual and cultural development programs.

IVAN ZATOPLYAYEV

Chairman of the Board Ivan Zatoplyayev is an executive specializing in strategy development and project management, with broad experience across business management, technology, and banking. He leads project investments and strategic development at the Unity Club, playing a central role in advancing cross-sector initiatives and high-impact ventures. In addition to his involvement with the Unity Club, Ivan serves as a board executive at Sunpro Group, Berezan Port, and Montelux, where he focuses on strategic planning and execution in complex and demanding environments. With deep expertise in sourcing and structuring deals and partnerships, he is known for bridging high-tech innovation with large-scale infrastructure. Ivan brings a distinctive perspective to building and scaling global development efforts for the Unity Club and beyond.

PETE WILSON

Club member Pete Wilson’s more than 30 years of dedicated public service as Governor of California, U.S. Senator, Mayor of San Diego, and California state Assemblyman. As Governor of California from 1991 to 1999, he is credited with leading California from the depths of recession to prosperous economic recovery. Insisting on strict budget discipline and reform of the state’s then-hostile business environment, he courted investment in job creation nationwide and abroad. He demanded reform of California’s onerous regulatory excess by consolidating and expediting permit approvals by creating one-stop shops. He advocated market-based pools for unsubsidized health coverage for employees of small businesses and obtained anti-fraud measures that drove down workers’ compensation premiums by 40 percent. Under his leadership, California also enacted sweeping welfare and anti-crime reforms and historic education reforms. After leaving office, he served on the President’s Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board and the Defense Policy Board of the Secretary of Defense. Pete is a Principal in Wilson Walsh, based in the firm’s Los Angeles office. He is also Of Counsel at Ellis George LLP. Pete strengthens Ellis George’s services by expanding its reach and experience nationally and internationally, particularly where business and governmental interests intertwine.

JAMES P. MORAN

Club member Jim represented the Northern Virginia communities of Arlington, Alexandria, and Fairfax County for 24 years in the United States Congress, where he was known for his bipartisan leadership and ability to resolve complex issues. He served on the Appropriations, Foreign Affairs, Banking, Housing and Finance, and Government Reform and Oversight committees during his 12 terms in the U.S. Congress. As a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee, he was chairman and ranking member of the Subcommittee on the Interior and Environment, a senior member on the Defense and Military Construction subcommittees, Foreign Operations, Labor, Health, and Human Services, and Ranking Member of the D.C. and Legislative Branch subcommittees. Jim was a founder of the New Democrat Coalition (NDC), which is now the largest caucus in the U.S. Congress. The NDC is defined by its advocacy for international trade and entrepreneurial innovation. He also served as a member of the Steering and Policy Committee of the House Democratic Leadership. Prior to joining Congress, Jim served as Mayor of the City of Alexandria, Va. (1985–1990.) Senior Specialist, Budgetary, Fiscal Policy for the Library of Congress (1972–1974); and Acting Director of the Budget Office for Welfare, Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Services for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (then HEW) (1968–1972).

GEORGE J. MANN

Club member George J. Mann, AIA is Professor Emeritus of Architecture at the School of Architecture and was the first Ronald L. Skaggs, FAIA Endowed Professor of Health Facilities Design at Texas A&M University. He was also the first Skaggs – Sprague Endowed Chair of Health Facilities Design. He has a national and international reputation as a leader in Health and Hospital Facilities Design. He has had over 60 years of pioneering experience in the field of "Architecture for Health" through his integrated architectural research, teaching, consulting, practice, speaking, and writing,- focusing on Health and Health & Hospital Facilities Design. In 1966 he founded the unique "Architecture for Health" Program at Texas A&M University. Today this program has become the leading research and design "Architecture for Health" Program in the world. He has guided the architectural education of over 5000 students, many of whom now lead the architecture for health field, across the globe. He was awarded the President George H.W. Bush Service Award in 2003 personally by President George H.W.Bush at the Bush Presidential Library. Professor Mann also became the First Recipient of the prestigious Dean J. Thomas Regan Award for Interdisciplinary Teaching, Research, and Public Service. In 2014 he was awarded the "Lifetime Leadership Award" by Design & Health, - from The International Academy for Design and Health, in Toronto, Canada.

Michael Sawkiw, Jr.

Club member Michael Sawkiw is a former President of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA), the leading representative organization of the Ukrainian American community. Since 1996, he has served as Director of the UCCA’s Washington, DC bureau – the Ukrainian National Information Service, and remains in this post presently. Michael is also Chairman of the U.S. Committee for Ukrainian Holodomor-Genocide Awareness and was instrumental in the establishment of the Ukrainian Famine-Genocide (Holodomor) Memorial in Washington, DC (unveiled in November 2015). He received the prestigious Sheptytsky Award in 2015 from His Beatitude Patriarch Sviatoslav of the Ukrainian Catholic Church for his efforts in memorializing the victims of the Ukrainian Holodomor. In August 2017, the President of Ukraine awarded the Yaroslav the Wise state medal for his advocacy work in Washington and the establishment of the Holodomor Memorial.
